كُنتِ أَنتِ الهَوى وَزَيَّنَكِ الحُ

كُنتِ أَنتِ الهَوى وَزَيَّنَكِ الحُ

بُّ فَقَرّي عَيناً بِهِ وَاِطمَئِنّي

بُّ فَقَرّي عَيناً بِهِ وَاِطمَئِنّي

You were love itself, and love adorned you;

You were my love, graced by affection,

so take delight in it and be at ease.

So rest your eyes assured, and find comfort,

وَاِعلَمي أَنَّهُ مِنَ القَولِ حَقّاً

وَاِعلَمي أَنَّهُ مِنَ القَولِ حَقّاً

قِسمَةٌ خارَها لَكِ اللَهُ مِنّي

قِسمَةٌ خارَها لَكِ اللَهُ مِنّي

And know that, to speak truly, it is

Know truly, this is a promise made,

a share God chose for you from me.

A share destined for you by God through me,

فَلَقَد نِلتِ في الفُؤادِ مَحَلاً

فَلَقَد نِلتِ في الفُؤادِ مَحَلاً

لَو تَمَنَّيتِ زادَ فَوقَ التَمنّي

لَو تَمَنَّيتِ زادَ فَوقَ التَمنّي

For indeed you have gained a place in the heart

For you've gained in my heart a place,

that, were you to wish for it, would surpass your wishes.

That if you wished, would surpass all wishes.
