اِبتَلى اللَهُ بِهَذا مَن زَعَم
They claimed to me that she had come down with a fever.
They claimed that she has become perfect
May God afflict whoever said so with the same illness.
May God test whoever claimed this

She fell ill at the height of her perfection, just as
She complained that she became as complete as she was
The full moon is eclipsed when it is said to be full.
The full moon is eclipsed when it is said to be complete
لَيتَif only بيupon me شَكواكِyour illness ياO سَيِّدَتيmy lady
لَيتَ بي شَكواكِ يا سَيِّدَتي
وَلَكِand for you الأَجرُthe reward وَإِنand even if طالَlasts long السَقَمthe sickness
وَلَكِ الأَجرُ وَإِن طالَ السَقَم
If only your illness were mine, my lady,
I wish your complaints were about me, my lady
And yours the reward, even if the sickness lingers.
And you will be rewarded even if the illness persists
