العاشِقانِthe two lovers كِلاهُماboth of them مُتَغَضِّبُangry
العاشِقانِ كِلاهُما مُتَغَضِّبُ
وَكِلاهُماand both of them مُتَشَوِّقٌyearning مُتَطَرِّبُstirred with passion
وَكِلاهُما مُتَشَوِّقٌ مُتَطَرِّبُ
The two lovers are both angry.
Both lovers are angry,
And both are yearning, stirred with passion.
And both are longing and troubled.
صَدَّتshe turned away مُراغِمَةًdefiantly وَصَدَّand he turned away مُراغِماًdefiantly
صَدَّت مُراغِمَةً وَصَدَّ مُراغِماً
وَكِلاهُماand both of them مِمّاby what يُعالِجُhe endures مُتعَبُexhausted
وَكِلاهُما مِمّا يُعالِجُ مُتعَبُ
She turned away in defiance, and he turned away in defiance.
They refused intimacy, and refused an intimate;
And both are exhausted by what they endure.
Both are exhausted by what they are going through.
راجِعreturn to أَحَبَّتُكَyour loved ones الَّذينَwhom هَجَرتَهُمyou forsook them
راجِع أَحَبَّتُكَ الَّذينَ هَجَرتَهُم
إِنَّindeed المُتَيَّمَone enslaved by love قَلَّseldom ماparticle completing 'seldom' يَتَجَنَّبُkeeps away
إِنَّ المُتَيَّمَ قَلَّ ما يَتَجَنَّبُ
Return to your loved ones whom you have forsaken.
Go back to those you loved, whom you've abandoned,
Indeed, one enslaved by love seldom keeps away.
For the orphan rarely avoids.
إِنَّindeed التَجنُّبَestrangement إِنif تَمَكَّنَtakes hold مِنكُماof you both
إِنَّ التَجنُّبَ إِن تَمَكَّنَ مِنكُما
دَبَّcrept in السُلُوُّforgetting the beloved لَهُbecause of it فَعَزَّand so grew hard to attain المَطلَبُthe desired goal
دَبَّ السُلُوُّ لَهُ فَعَزَّ المَطلَبُ
Indeed, if estrangement takes hold of you both,
Avoidance, if it takes hold of you both,
Forgetfulness creeps in because of it, and what you seek grows hard to attain.
Makes wishing impossible and the goal remote.
