زَعَمَclaimed الرَسولُthe messenger بِأَنَّكُمthat you قُلتُمyou said لَهُto him
زَعَمَ الرَسولُ بِأَنَّكُم قُلتُم لَهُ
إِنّاindeed we سِواكُمsomeone other than you بِالوِصالِfor union نُحاوِلُwe seek
إِنّا سِواكُم بِالوِصالِ نُحاوِلُ
The messenger claimed that you had said to him:
The messenger claimed that you told him
“We seek union with someone other than you.”
that we seek union with someone other than you.
لاno وَالَّذيby Him who سَمَكَraised السَماءَthe sky بِقُدرَةٍwith power
لا وَالَّذي سَمَكَ السَماءَ بِقُدرَةٍ
ماnot فيamong العِبادِpeople لَكُمto you لَديَّin my eyes مُعادِلُan equal
ما في العِبادِ لَكُم لَديَّ مُعادِلُ
No—by Him who raised the heavens through His power,
No—by Him who raised the sky with power,
among all humankind, none is your equal in my eyes.
