Take heart, and take your troubles lightly.
Be patient, let the matters be easy for you
Perhaps you will see joy after sorrow.
Perhaps after sadness you will see happiness

Perhaps the One in whose hands all matters lie
Perhaps He who controls all matters
will place much good in hardship.
Will make much good out of the disliked thing

عُ مِن شِدَّةِ الوَجدِ بي أَن أُشيرا
I conceal what is within me, and cannot—
I conceal what is within me, I cannot
so intense is the passion within me—give a sign.
Reveal, from the intensity of passion in me
أَماdo you not تَحسَبينيyou think me أَرىI see العاشِقينَthe lovers
أَما تَحسَبيني أَرى العاشِقينَ

بَلى ثُمَّ لَستُ أَرى لي نَظيرا
Do you not think I see the lovers?
Don't you think I see lovers?
Yes, and yet I see no equal to myself.
Yes, then I don't see any peer for me
