أَروني وَجهَ نِسرينِ

أَروني وَجهَ نِسرينِ

وَأَنّى لي بِنِسرينِ

وَأَنّى لي بِنِسرينِ

Show me Nisrin’s face.

Show me my beloved's face,

And how can I have Nisrin?

Though I have no beloved.

أَروني مَن يُداويني

أَروني مَن يُداويني

مِنَ الداءِ وَيَشفيني

مِنَ الداءِ وَيَشفيني

Show me someone who can treat me

Show me who will cure me

for the illness and heal me.

Of my sickness and heal me.

فَإِن لَم تَملِكوا الأَمرَ الَّ

فَإِن لَم تَملِكوا الأَمرَ الَّ

ذي أَرجو فَمَنوني

ذي أَرجو فَمَنوني

So if you cannot bring about what

If you cannot grant

I hope for, then feed me hopes.

What I hope for, console me,

وَذُبّوا اليَأسَ عَن قَلبي

وَذُبّوا اليَأسَ عَن قَلبي

بِما شِئتُم وَغُرّوني

بِما شِئتُم وَغُرّوني

And drive despair away from my heart

And banish despair from my heart

with whatever you wish, and deceive me.

However you wish, and cheer me.

فَيا شُغلي عَنِ الدُنيا

فَيا شُغلي عَنِ الدُنيا

وَيا شُغلي عَنِ الدينِ

وَيا شُغلي عَنِ الدينِ

So, O you who distract me from the world,

O my heart's preoccupation with worldly things,

and O you who distract me from religion,

O my heart's preoccupation with religion,

أَما شَيءٌ مِنَ الأَشيا

أَما شَيءٌ مِنَ الأَشيا

ءِ مِن وَصلِكِ يُدنيني

ءِ مِن وَصلِكِ يُدنيني

is there not something among all things

Is there nothing among all things

that brings me closer to union with you?

That would bring me closer to being joined with you?
