لَولاكَ لَم تَملُحِ الدُنيا وَلَم تَطِبِ
O adornment of all the children Eve has borne,
O beauty, the finest child born to Eve,
Without you, the world would be neither lovely nor pleasant.
Without you, life would not be sweet nor good.

I mean her—whoever is shown her image by God
I mean she whose image, if God shows a man,
attains immortality, neither growing old nor turning gray.
He gains eternity, neither decays nor grows old.
أَمّاas for اللِقاءُmeeting فَشَيءٌthen it is something لاnot أُؤَمِّلُهُI hope for it
أَمّا اللِقاءُ فَشَيءٌ لا أُؤَمِّلُهُ

فَما يَضُرُّكِ لَو ناجَيتِ بِالكُتُبِ
As for meeting you, it is something I do not hope for.
As for meeting, that is something I do not hope for,
So what harm would it do you if you spoke to me privately through letters?
So letters hurt you not, if we converse through writing.
