وَكُلُّ نَعيمٍ سَوفَ يُقلى وَيُهجَرُ
Lo, life's serenity is more clouded after you,
Alas! Life's joy after you is ever bleak,
And every delight will be loathed and forsaken.
And every bliss shall surely fade and wreak.
لَعَمريby my life لَنِعمَtruly excellent is المُستَغاثُthat whose aid is sought بِهِthrough it البُكاweeping

إِذا فَنِيَ الصَبرُ الَّذي كانَ يُذخَرُ
By my life, what an excellent refuge weeping is
With tears I shall lament, when patience spent
When the patience once held in reserve is exhausted.
That I had hoarded for the absent's sake.
سَأَبكيI shall weep for ضِياءًDiya مُستَقِلاًdeeming too little لَهاfor her البُكَاweeping
سَأَبكي ضِياءً مُستَقِلاً لَها البُكَا
وَيُسعِدُنيand will join me in weeping يَحيىYahya وَفَضلٌand Fadl وَجَعفَرُand Ja'far
وَيُسعِدُني يَحيى وَفَضلٌ وَجَعفَرُ
I shall weep for Diya, deeming my weeping too little for her,
My tears shall shine; I weep alone for her,
And Yahya, Fadl, and Ja'far will join me in weeping.
While Yaḥyá's grace and Jaʿfar comfort me.
