إِنَّ يَومي بَينَ المُغيثَةِ وَالقَر

إِنَّ يَومي بَينَ المُغيثَةِ وَالقَر

عاءِ لَذٌّ لَو تَمَّ فيهِ السُرورُ

عاءِ لَذٌّ لَو تَمَّ فيهِ السُرورُ

Indeed, my day between al-Mughītha and al-Qar-

My day between relief and kinship

ʿāʾ would have been delightful, had its joy been complete—

Is pleasure, if in it joy be complete

يَومَ ساروا وَسِرتُ حَيثُ أَراهُم

يَومَ ساروا وَسِرتُ حَيثُ أَراهُم

فَتَمَنَّيتُ أَن يَطولَ المَسيرُ

فَتَمَنَّيتُ أَن يَطولَ المَسيرُ

the day they journeyed and I journeyed where I could see them,

The day they marched, and I went secretly where I saw them

so I wished the journey would last longer.

And wished the journey to be prolonged
