أَما وَالَّذي لَو شاءَ لَم يَخلُقِ النَوى

أَما وَالَّذي لَو شاءَ لَم يَخلُقِ النَوى

لَئِن غِبتَ عَن عَيني لَما غِبتَ عَن قَلبي

لَئِن غِبتَ عَن عَيني لَما غِبتَ عَن قَلبي

Indeed, by Him who, had He willed, would not have created separation,

By Him who, if He willed, would not have created the stars

If you are absent from my sight, you are surely not absent from my heart.

If you are absent from my eyes, you are not absent from my heart

يُوَهِّمُنيكَ الشَوقُ حَتّى كَأَنَّما

يُوَهِّمُنيكَ الشَوقُ حَتّى كَأَنَّما

أُناجيكَ عَن قُربٍ وَإِن لَم تَكُن قُربي

أُناجيكَ عَن قُربٍ وَإِن لَم تَكُن قُربي

Longing makes me imagine you, until it is as though

Yearning makes me imagine you are near

I whisper to you from close by, even though you are not near me.

As if I am speaking to you closely, even if you are not near me
