ذَكَرتُكِI remembered you بِالتُّفّاحِin the apples لَماwhen شَمَمتُهُI smelled it
ذَكَرتُكِ بِالتُّفّاحِ لَما شَمَمتُهُ
وَبِالراحِand in the wine لَماwhen قابَلتit met أَوجُهَthe faces of الشَربِthe drinkers
وَبِالراحِ لَما قابَلت أَوجُهَ الشَربِ
I remembered you when I smelled the apples,
I remembered you with the apple when I smelled it
And in the wine when it met the drinkers’ faces.
And with the wind when I faced the drinking
تَذَكَّرتُI recalled بِالتُفّاحِin the apples مِنكِof you سَوالِفاًcheeks
تَذَكَّرتُ بِالتُفّاحِ مِنكِ سَوالِفاً
وَبِالراحِand in the wine طَعماًa taste مِنfrom مُقَبَّلَكِyour lips العَذبِsweet
وَبِالراحِ طَعماً مِن مُقَبَّلَكِ العَذبِ
In the apples I recalled your cheeks,
With the apple I remembered conversations with you
And in the wine, a taste of your sweet lips.
And with the wind the sweet taste of your kiss
