His heart wanders lovestruck through the lava fields of al-Jazira.
His heart roves the islands' dust
And there is a languid-eyed gazelle who bewitches him.
Where a languid-eyed gazelle ensnares it,
يُؤازِرُهُsupports him قَلبيmy heart عَلَيَّagainst me وَلَيسَand there is not ليfor me
يُؤازِرُهُ قَلبي عَلَيَّ وَلَيسَ لي

My heart supports him against me, and I have no
My heart champions his against me though
Power against one whom my heart supports against me.
I've no hands with which my heart betrays me.
