He is ill; if a messenger of ours comes to him
If someone sick sends us a messenger
to convey a request, the messenger is turned away.
To ask some need—he's turned away.
تَقَطَّعُis torn apart حَسرَةًwith grief نَفسيmy soul عَلَيهِfor him
وَلَيسَand there is no إِلىto عِيادَتِهِvisiting him in illness سَبيلُa way
My soul is torn apart with grief for him,
My spirit fractures in despair for him,
and there is no way to visit him.
Though there's no path for me to where he lay.
