Tears—Love called to them, and they answered him.
Tears—love called them, and they answered it.
They streamed down in scattered courses, flowing over my cheek.
They streamed down, scattered, flowing over my cheek.

My eyelids took the burden upon themselves, relieving the eye of bearing its water.
The eye's lids grow too weary to hold its tears,
And so it reveals what I conceal, and conceals what I reveal.
So they reveal what I conceal and conceal what I reveal.
