أَيُبطِلُDoes it invalidate إِحراميmy consecration كِتابٌa letter كَتَبتُهُI wrote it
إِلىto أَهلِthe people of وُدّيmy affection أَمor عَلَيَّupon me بِهِbecause of it دَمُa blood sacrifice
Does a letter I wrote invalidate my state of consecration
to those dear to me, or must I offer a blood sacrifice for it?
وَإِنّيAnd indeed I لَأَلقىsurely meet مُحرِماًwhile consecrated مَنthe one whom أُحِبُّهُI love him
فَأُعليso I raise بِهِtoward him طَرفيmy gaze وَلاand not أَتَكَلَّمُI speak
Indeed, while consecrated, I meet the one I love;
I lift my gaze toward him, but do not speak.
وَلابَأَسَand there is no harm أَنthat يَلقىhe meets المُحِبُّthe lover حَبيبَهُhis beloved
فَيَشكوso he tells of إِلَيهِto him بَثَّهُhis grief وَهُوَwhile he is مُحرِمُconsecrated
And there is no harm in a lover meeting his beloved
and telling him of his grief while still consecrated.
