أَياAh! لَكِof yours نَظرَةًa glance أَودَتbrought ruin بِقَلبيupon my heart
وَغادَرَand left سَهمُهاits arrow جِسميmy body جَريحاwounded
Ah, what a glance of yours brought ruin upon my heart!
Oh you, with the glance that captured my heart
And its arrow left my body wounded.
Its arrow left my body wounded
فَلَيتَso, if only أَميرَتيmy princess جادَتbestowed generously بِأُخرىwith another
فَكانَتso it would be بَعضَpart of ماwhat يَنكاreopens القُروحاthe wounds
So, if only my princess would bestow another,
If only my princess would glance again
so it would be among the things that reopen the wounds:
To heal some of my aching wounds
فَإِمّاthen either أَنthat يَكونَwould be بِهاthrough it شِفائيmy healing
وَإِمّاor else أَنthat أَموتَI die فَأَستَريحاand so I find rest
then either my healing would come through it,
Either it may bring about my remedy
or I would die and so find rest.
Or I shall die and finally rest
