فَما أُريدُ لِنَفسي غَيرَهُ وَطَنا
The heart has become captive in this city.
My heart in this land Egypt is held captive
So I desire no homeland for myself but it.
I want no other home but it as my nation
دَعِleave الحِجازَthe Hijaz وَمَنand whoever أَمسىhas come to يَحُلُّdwell بِهِin it
دَعِ الحِجازَ وَمَن أَمسى يَحُلُّ بِهِ
إِنَّindeed الفُؤادَthe heart بِأَهلِby the people of الغَورِal-Ghawr قَدalready فُتِناwas captivated
إِنَّ الفُؤادَ بِأَهلِ الغَورِ قَد فُتِنا
Leave the Hijaz and whoever has come to dwell there.
Leave Hejaz and those who make their home there
Indeed, the heart has been captivated by the people of al-Ghawr.
For my heart is smitten with the people of these tombs
