جَمَعتُم بِفَوزٍ شَملَ مَن كانَ ذا هَوىً

جَمَعتُم بِفَوزٍ شَملَ مَن كانَ ذا هَوىً

وَلَم تَجمَعوا بَيني وَبَينَ ظَلومِ

وَلَم تَجمَعوا بَيني وَبَينَ ظَلومِ

You brought one who was in love together with Fawz,

You gathered with triumph those who loved

yet you did not bring me together with Zalum.

But did not gather me with the one I love

فَإِن أَحيَ لا أَحمَد حَياتي وَإِن أَمُت

فَإِن أَحيَ لا أَحمَد حَياتي وَإِن أَمُت

فَإِنَّ قَتيلَ الشَوقِ غَيرُ مَلومِ

فَإِنَّ قَتيلَ الشَوقِ غَيرُ مَلومِ

So if I live, I do not praise my life; and if I die,

If I live, I won't praise my life, and if I die

then indeed, one slain by longing is not to blame.

For the slain of longing are not blamed
