ما أُراني إِلّا سَأَهجُرُ مَن لَي
سَremainder of 'does not' يَرانيsees me أَقوىmore capable عَلىof الهِجرانِforsaking
سَ يَراني أَقوى عَلى الهِجرانِ
I can only see myself forsaking one who
I see myself only leaving behind those
does not think me better able to forsake.
Who do not see me stronger in departure
مَلَّنيhe grew weary of me واثِقاًconfident بِحُسنِin the goodness of وَفائيmy loyalty
مَلَّني واثِقاً بِحُسنِ وَفائي
ماhow أَضَرَّharmful الوَفاءَloyalty بِالإِنسانِto a human being
ما أَضَرَّ الوَفاءَ بِالإِنسانِ
He grew weary of me, trusting in my steadfast loyalty.
I became confident in my loyalty
How harmful loyalty is to a human being!
Loyalty does not harm mankind
