Now, when it has become captive—
Now that my heart is held captive
my heart—and remembering you has become my preoccupation,
And filled with thoughts of you
أَعرَضتِyou turned away ماas أَعرَضتِyou turned away راغِبَةًaverse

you have turned away as you have, averse
You turn away, desiring
to me—why did this not happen earlier?
To be rid of me - but why not before?

And you have tired, my lady, of keeping company with me
My lady, you grow weary of my devotion
before our bond could grow firm.
Before our bond takes hold
