راحَتيmy comfort فيin الكَلامِspeech حَتّىuntil أَراكِI see you
إِنَّindeed بيwithin me مِنكِfrom you شاغِلاًan engrossing concern عَنaway from سِواكِanyone other than you
My comfort lies in speaking until I see you.
My comfort is in talking until I see you
Indeed, my preoccupation with you turns me away from everyone else.
For I have in you a preoccupation from anyone else
تَعِسَcursed be الهَجرُestrangement وَالَّذيand the one who شَأنُهُhis customary way الهَجestrangement (first part)
رُcompletion of 'estrangement' مِنَamong الناسِpeople كُلِّهمall of them حاشاكِexcept you
Cursed be estrangement, and whoever makes estrangement his way,
Miserable is estrangement, and he whose affair is to be estranged
among all people—except you.
From all people, except for you
لَستِyou are not تَرضَينَyou are pleased عَنwith كَئيبٍa sorrowful man وَإِنّيand indeed I
لَستُI do not أَدريknow ماwhat حيلَتيmy means فيfor رِضاكِyour favor
You are not pleased with a sorrowful man, and indeed I
You are not pleased with a gloomy one, yet
do not know how I can win your favor.
I do not know what my stratagem is in pleasing you
فَإِذاso when قيلَit is asked مَنwhom تُحِبُّyou love تَخَطّاpassed over
كِyou (object suffix) لِسانيmy tongue وَأَنتِand you فيin القَلبِthe heart ذاكِthat one
So when asked, 'Whom do you love?' my tongue passes over
So when it is said who do you love?
you, though in my heart you are the one.
My tongue stumbles, while you are in my heart
