There is no cure for what ails me except seeing her.
There is no cure for my ills except seeing her,
The cure for what ails me is elusive, nowhere to be found.
The cure I need is precious, yet unattainable.

O you who distract my soul from the world and its splendor,
Oh my heart's preoccupation, distracting me from life's joys,
What do you decree for one lovesick at heart and stricken?
Why do you command me to endure such agony?

It is as though, on the day your messenger comes to him,
It's as if the day your messenger arrives,
he has gained the kingdom of Solomon, son of David.
He will have gained the kingdom of Solomon, son of David.
