ياO مَنyou who تَجَنّىacted unjustly حينَwhen لَمdid not أَعصِهِdisobey him

وَعَدَّand deemed ذَنباًa sin لَيسَwas not بِالذَنبِa sin at all
وَعَدَّ ذَنباً لَيسَ بِالذَنبِ
O you who wronged me when I had not disobeyed you,
O you who turned away when I did not disobey,
And deemed a sin what was no sin.
And counted as sin what was no sin,

Be pleased with me, for you have, because of your rejection and play,
You have killed me by spurning me and toying with me.
