The houses and doors kept turning me away,
The houses and doors kept pushing me on,
Until I reached the monastery of Ibn Qabus,
Until I ended up at Ibn Qabous's monastery.

Until I reached a noble man endowed with generosity,
Until I ended up with a freeman of generosity,
Who serves wine in prosperity and hardship.
Who pours wine freely and kisses freely.
