عَلَيكَtake for yourself جَديدَthe freshness وَجهِكَof your face فَاِبتَذِلهُso wear it out
فَقَدfor indeed خَلّاكَhas left you رَبُّكَyour Lord لِلسُؤالِto begging
Take your still-fresh face and wear it out,
Show your new face though it be trite,
For your Lord has left you to beg.
For your Lord made you for serving slight.
كَأَنَّكَas though you إِذwhen عَلِقتَyou clung بِعَردَمِيٍّto a thick phallus
سَمَوتَyou rose إِلىto أُمَيَّةَUmayya بِالحِبالِby ropes
As though, when you clung to a thick phallus,
You were like one who climbed in yearning love,
You had climbed to Umayya by ropes.
To Umayya on a rope from ardent passion wove,
لَقَدindeed تَرَكَhas left النِكاحُintercourse أَباAbu (father of) سُلَيمٍSulaym
كَظَهرِlike the back of الطَستِthe basin لَيسَis not بِذيpossessing قِبالِa strap
Intercourse has indeed left Abu Sulaym
Wedlock left Abul-Sulaymi so outworn,
Like the back of a basin, without a strap.
Like back of skillet, of all fat shorn.
