وَلَكِنand yet لَناours بَرُّthe land of العِراقِIraq وَبَحرُهُand its sea

إِذاwhen اِبتَدَرَrush for الناسُthe people السِجالَthe full buckets وَجَدتَناyou find us
لَناours مِقدَحاtwo ladlefuls مَجدٍof glory وَلِلناسِand for the people مِقدَحُone ladleful
