لَعَمرُكَ إِنّا مِن زُهَيرِ بنِ جُندَبٍ

لَعَمرُكَ إِنّا مِن زُهَيرِ بنِ جُندَبٍ

لَدانونَ لَو أَنَّ القَرابَةَ تَنفَعُ

لَدانونَ لَو أَنَّ القَرابَةَ تَنفَعُ

By your life, to Zuhayr son of Jundab we are

By your life! Indeed, we are from Zuheir bin Jundab

indeed close kin—if kinship were of any use.

We are close relatives, if kinship brought any gain

فَأَمّا إِناءُ الخَيرِ مِنهُم فَفارِغٌ

فَأَمّا إِناءُ الخَيرِ مِنهُم فَفارِغٌ

وَأَمّا إِناءُ الشَرِّ مِنهُم فَمُترَعُ

وَأَمّا إِناءُ الشَرِّ مِنهُم فَمُترَعُ

So as for their vessel of good, it is empty;

But the vessel of good is empty among them

and as for their vessel of evil, it is filled to the brim.

And the vessel of evil among them overflows
