Bakr ibn Wa’il has indeed stumbled once;
Bakr son of Wail stumbled once,
And if it stumbles again, then onto its nose and mouth.
if he stumbles again, blame his nose and mouth.
فَدينواso submit كَماas دانَتsubmitted غَنِيٌّGhani لِعامِرٍto Amir
فَدينوا كَما دانَت غَنِيٌّ لِعامِرٍ
فَغَيرُهُمُfor someone other than them الجانيthe culprit وَهُمand they عاقِلواpayers of blood-money الدَمِthe bloodshed
فَغَيرُهُمُ الجاني وَهُم عاقِلوا الدَمِ
So submit, as Ghani submitted to Amir;
Pay them as Ameer was paid by a rich man,
For the culprit is someone else, yet they pay the blood-money.
for others did wrong while they are reasonable people.
