O sons of Mismaʿ, you are the crest of a people—

Sabābija who cast hostile, sidelong glances at me.

Are you not sons of Qalʿ, with your origins in the sea?

I saw you sway-backed, and dates were your food.

Eyes in which date-wine flowed, and which would not

drink, out of baseness, boiled-down grape juice or wine.
