If lands turn hostile, do I not have behind me
Is there not behind me a land unrecognizable
Suwayd son of Manjuf and Bakr son of Wa'il?
Where once dwelt Suwaed bin Manjoof and Bakr bin Wael
فَتِلكَthose, then بُيوتٌhouses لاnot تُنالُare reached فُروعُهاtheir branches

Those, then, are houses whose branches cannot be reached;
Those are homes whose branches cannot be attained
Their upper reaches are lofty, their foundations strong.
With lofty pillars and lowly foundations
