You ruined a planting; its boughs withered,
You wasted a planting that its buds flourished
and busied yourself among farces and beauties.
And busied yourself with frivolities and songs

inspired us; now it is a captive's slap.
Inspired us and now a blow, suffering?

Graciously, but he failed on the scales
