ماnot اِختارَwould choose غَيرَكَother than you رَوضَةًas a garden لِجَلالِهِfor His majesty
If God were to have a leafy grove,
If God would take a close friend
He would choose no garden but you for His majesty.
He would choose none but you, a garden for His majesty
فَكَأَنَّماso it is as though الصِفَتانِthe two qualities فيin حُسنَيهِماtheir two beauties
ديباجَتاthe two brocades of خَدٍّa cheek يَتيهُtakes pride بِخالِهِin its beauty mark
So it is as though the two qualities, in their beauty,
It is as if the two companions in their beauty
were two brocade panels of a cheek proud of its beauty mark.
Are brocade of a cheek wandering with its mole
وَكَأَنَّماand it is as though البُوسفورُthe Bosphorus حَوضُthe pool of مُحَمَّدٍMuhammad
وَسَطَamid الجِنانِthe gardens وَهُنَّwhile they are فيin إِجلالِهِreverence for it
And as though the Bosphorus were Muhammad's pool,
As if the phosphorus is Muhammad's pond
amid the gardens, which hold it in reverence.
Amid the gardens, and they are in awe of its majesty
وَكَأَنَّand as though شاهِقَةَthe towering ones of القُصورِthe palaces حِيالَهُfacing it

And as though the towering palaces facing it
As if the towering palaces are its scenes
were the chambers of Taha and his family in the gardens;
The chambers of Taha in the gardens and his progeny
وَكَأَنَّand as though عيدَكِyour festival عيدُهاtheir festival لَمّاwhen مَشىwalked
فيهاamong them البَشيرُthe herald بِبِشرِهِwith his gladness وَجَمالِهِand his beauty
and as though your festival were theirs, when there walked
As if your feast is their feast when he walked in them
among them the herald with his gladness and beauty.
The giver of good tidings with his tidings and beauty
تيهيtake pride بِعيدِكِin your festival فيamong المَمالِكِthe kingdoms وَاِسلَميand remain safe

Glory in your festival among the kingdoms, and remain safe
Wander at your feast in the kingdoms and salute
in peace for thousands of its like.
The thousands from its likes with peace
وَاِستَقبِليand welcome عَهدَthe reign of الرَشادِRashad مُجَمَّلاًadorned

And welcome the reign of Rashad, adorned
And anticipate the era of righteousness adorned
with the beauties of the constitution at its dawning.
With the virtues of the constitution at its start

You are the Abode of Felicity; that is its gate;
O House of Happiness, you are its gate
may the hand stretched out to close it be paralyzed.
A hand outstretched to close it was paralyzed
