Treat the love-struck man—treat him,
Heal the lovesick one, heal him,
before he finds the cure.
Before he finds the cure.
إِنَّindeed النَواصِحَthe advisers كُلَّهُمall of them

For all the counselors, every one,
Indeed, all the advisers
prescribed a change of air.
Have counseled a change of love.
فَتَحتُمواyou opened باباًa door عَلىupon صَبِّكُمyour lovesick lover
لِلصَدِّto rejection وَالهَجرِand abandonment وَطولِand the length of النَوىseparation
You opened for your pining lover a door
You have opened a door for your lovesick lover
to rebuff, desertion, and long separation.
To rejection, abandonment, and long separation.
فَلاso do not تَلوموهُblame him إِذاif ماever (emphatic) سَلاhe ceases to love

So do not blame him if he forgets his love:
So do not blame him if ever he ceases to love:
the door was opened, and the air—his passion—passed away.
The door has been opened, and the breeze has passed through.
