وانظر إلى الغلام كيف استحسنه
Look at the broker bewitching the young man.
See the broker bewitch the young man
And look at the boy—how he admires him!
And see the boy, how he took to him

عندي ألف ما ملكت غيرها
منwho ليfor me بهاwith it ألفينtwo thousand إنif فاتتhas passed سنهa year
من لي بها ألفين إن فاتت سنه
I have a thousand; I own nothing else.
I have a thousand that I possessed not save her
Who will turn it into two thousand for me if a year goes by?
Who will give me two thousand if her year passes
