الحَيوانُ خَلقُ

الحَيوانُ خَلقُ

لَهُ عَلَيكَ حَقُّ

لَهُ عَلَيكَ حَقُّ

The animal is a creature;

The animal is created

it has a claim upon you.

You have a right over it

سَخَّرَهُ اللَهُ لَكا

سَخَّرَهُ اللَهُ لَكا

وَلِلعِبادِ قَبلَكا

وَلِلعِبادِ قَبلَكا

God put it at your service,

Allah has subjugated it to you

and at the service of people before you.

And to servants before you

حَمولَةُ الأَثقالِ

حَمولَةُ الأَثقالِ

وَمُرضِعُ الأَطفالِ

وَمُرضِعُ الأَطفالِ

A bearer of heavy loads,

Bearer of heavy loads

and a giver of milk to children,

And wet nurse of infants

وَمُطعِمُ الجَماعَه

وَمُطعِمُ الجَماعَه

وَخادِمُ الزِراعَه

وَخادِمُ الزِراعَه

and a feeder of the community,

And feeder of the community

and a helper in farming.

And servant of agriculture

مِن حَقِّهِ أَن يُرفَقا

مِن حَقِّهِ أَن يُرفَقا

بِهِ وَأَلّا يُرهَقا

بِهِ وَأَلّا يُرهَقا

Among its rights is that kindness be shown

It is its right to be treated kindly

to it, and that it not be overburdened.

And not overburdened

إِن كَلَّ دَعهُ يَستَرِح

إِن كَلَّ دَعهُ يَستَرِح

وَداوِهِ إِذا جُرِح

وَداوِهِ إِذا جُرِح

If it grows weary, let it rest,

If it gets tired, let it rest

and treat it when it is wounded.

And treat it if it gets wounded

وَلا يَجُع في دارِكا

وَلا يَجُع في دارِكا

أَو يَظمَ في جِوارِكا

أَو يَظمَ في جِوارِكا

And do not let it go hungry in your home,

Do not let it starve in your home

or go thirsty near you.

Or suffer in your neighborhood

بَهيمَةٌ مِسكينُ

بَهيمَةٌ مِسكينُ

يَشكو فَلا يُبينُ

يَشكو فَلا يُبينُ

A poor beast,

A helpless beast

it complains but cannot make itself understood.

Complaining yet unable to express

لِسانُهُ مَقطوعُ

لِسانُهُ مَقطوعُ

وَما لَهُ دُموعُ

وَما لَهُ دُموعُ

Its tongue is cut off,

Its tongue is tied

and it has no tears.

And it has no tears
