قَدَّمتُI brought forward بَينَbetween يَدَيَّmy two hands نَفساًa soul أَذنَبَتthat sinned
قَدَّمتُ بَينَ يَدَيَّ نَفساً أَذنَبَت
وَأَتَيتُand I came بَينَbetween الخَوفِfear وَالإِقرارِand confession
وَأَتَيتُ بَينَ الخَوفِ وَالإِقرارِ
I set before me a soul that had sinned.
I present before myself a soul that has sinned
And I came between fear and confession.
And I come between fear and confession
وَجَعَلتُand I began أَستُرُto conceal عَنfrom سِواكanyone but You ذُنوبَهاits sins
وَجَعَلتُ أَستُرُ عَن سِواك ذُنوبَها
حَتّىuntil عَبيتُunclear as written; possibly 'I grew weary' فَمُنَّso graciously grant ليto me بِسِتارِwith a veil
حَتّى عَبيتُ فَمُنَّ لي بِسِتارِ
And I began concealing its sins from all but You.
And I have made covering up her sins from others
Until I grew weary [reading uncertain]; so grant me a veil.
Until I was granted a veil through favor
