يا كريم العهد يا ابن الأكرمين

كل عيد لك عيد للبنين

O noble keeper of the pledge, O son of the noblest,

Every festival of yours is a festival for the sons.

مصر ترجوهم وترجوك لهم

في ذَرا العباس خير المالكين

Egypt places her hopes in them, and in you for their sake,

Under the protection of Abbas, best of rulers.

وترى شأنك فيها شأنهم

أصلح الله شؤون الناشئين

And she sees your standing within her as theirs.

May God set right the affairs of the young,

ورعاهم لك واسترعاهم

بك مأمونا على العهد أمين

And watch over them for you, entrusting their care

To you, trusted and faithful to the pledge.

لك في مهد المعالي دولة

حسب الطفل عليها والجنين

You have a realm in the cradle of glory;

The child and the unborn are reckoned to its charge.

أبدا عباس يبنى ركنها

لبنيه وبنينا باليمين

Abbas is ever building its pillar

For his sons and our sons with his right hand.

وأميري في غد ساعده

ومن الأشبال لليث معين

And tomorrow my prince will be his arm,

And from the cubs comes a helper for the lion.

يشرق الكرسي من نورهما

كلما لاحا جبينا لجبين

The throne shines with the light of them both

Whenever they shine forth, brow to brow.
