1. أيها الثغر بلغت الأملا

    قم إلى الركب وزف المحملا

    O port, you have attained your hope.

    Rise to meet the caravan, and escort the mahmal.

  2. وامش في موكبه واجتله

    موكب الرحمن نعم المجتلى

    And walk in its procession and behold it.

    The procession of the All-Merciful—what a splendid sight!

  3. وتعطر بخَلِيلىِّ الشذى

    وتمتع من خليلىّ الحلى

    And perfume yourself with Khalili fragrance.

    And take pleasure in Khalili adornments.

  4. وإذا فاتك لمس بيد

    فتزوّد باللحاظ القبلا

    And if touching it by hand eludes you,

    Then store up kisses with your glances.

  5. واذكر الداعين لله غدا

    في منى وادع لهم مبتهلا

    And remember those who will call upon God tomorrow,

    In Mina, and pray humbly for them.

  6. هكذا فليتدلل مولد

    أخرج الملك الكريم المفضلا

    Thus let a birth bask in favor,

    That brought forth the noble, bountiful king.

  7. سيقول الناس في أخبارهم

    نقل المحمل عباس إلى

    People will say in their accounts:

    Abbas transferred the mahmal to

  8. جمل يحمل للبيت حلى

    ليتني كنت الحلى والجملا

    A camel bearing adornments for the House.

    If only I were the adornments and the camel!

  9. ليتني خُف له أو كلكل

    يوم يلقى في المقام الكلكلا

    If only I were its padded foot or breast,

    On the day it lays its breast down at the Station.

  10. سار يحدوه ويحمى جحفل

    ربنا أكلأه لنا والجحفلا

    It set out, a mighty host urging it on with song and guarding it.

    Our Lord, guard it and the host for us.

  11. وفدك اللهم كن جارهمو

    في بعيد البحر أو قاصى الفلا

    Your delegation, O God—be their protector,

    In the sea's far reaches or the remotest wilderness.

  12. وتقبل منهمو تلك الخطى

    وأعنهم وأثبهممجزلا

    And accept from them those steps,

    And help them and reward them abundantly.

  13. يابن خير الخلق قبلت يدا

    بلغ السؤل بها من قبَّلا

    O son of the best of creation, I kissed a hand—

    Whoever kissed it attained his desire through it.

  14. وبسطت الكف أبغى دعوة

    يوم تأتي الله أصوات الملا

    And I held out my palm, seeking a prayer,

    On the day the voices of the throng reach God.

  15. عرفات يعرف الإخلاص لي

    و منى تعرف لي صدق الولا

    Arafat knows my sincerity,

    And Mina knows the sincerity of my loyalty.

  16. إن تسل عن حسبي أو نسبي

    فهما مدحي أباك المرسلا

    If you ask about my ancestral honor or my lineage,

    Then both are my praise of your father, the Messenger.

  17. صلتي عند لا أتركها

    وكفاني صلة أن أصلا

    My reward is with ...; I will not forgo it,

    And simply to arrive is reward enough for me.

  18. أنت في عليا الذرى من أمة

    رفعوا مُلكا وشادوا دولا

    You stand on the loftiest heights of a people

    Who raised up a kingdom and founded states.

  19. كلما سارت لأرض خيلهم

    سبق العلم إليها الأَسلا

    Whenever their horses set out for a land,

    Knowledge reached it before the spears.

  20. قسما بالقاع والثاوى به

    وملاك غيبته كربلا

    I swear by the plain and the one who rests there,

    And by an angel whom Karbala has hidden away,

  21. ما علمت المجد إلا مجدكم

    قُصِر المجد عليكم والعلى

    I have known no glory but yours;

    Glory and eminence are yours alone.

  22. ورِث الناس نعيما باطلا

    وورثتم وحى ربي المنزلا

    People inherited illusory bliss,

    And you inherited the revelation sent down by my Lord.

  23. دام للحج ولىٌّ منكم

    يحرس البيت ويحمى السبلا

    May the pilgrimage always have a guardian from among you,

    Who guards the House and protects the roads.
