لكنت في حمأة التنقيص مغموسا

Were it not for the Prophet, and were it not for love of his family,

Were it not for the Prophet and were it not for love of his family

I would have been immersed in the mire of disparagement.

I would have been immersed in the mire of disparagement

ولكن الله أعطاني محبتهم

ولكن الله أعطاني محبتهم

فصرت بالعزّ والإقبال مأنوسا

فصرت بالعزّ والإقبال مأنوسا

But God granted me love for them,

But God granted me love for them

So I found comfort in honor and good fortune.

So I became accustomed to dignity and prosperity

وعشت والله مسرورا ومغتطا

وعشت والله مسرورا ومغتطا

وبالعناية ملحوظا ومحروسا

وبالعناية ملحوظا ومحروسا

And I lived, by God, joyful and delighted (probable reading),

And by God I lived delighted and proud

And watched over and protected by providence.

And was observed with care and protected

فالحمد لله حمدا أستزيد به

فالحمد لله حمدا أستزيد به

فضل المهيمن مستورا ومحسوسا

فضل المهيمن مستورا ومحسوسا

So praise be to God—a praise through which I seek more

So praise be to God with praise by which

Of the Guardian's bounty, both hidden and perceptible.

I increase the grace of the Guardian, concealed and sensed
