We used to fear time
We used to fear time's effect upon you as your sight grew dim,
for you, when your sight failed.
Not knowing that in blindness you would sing, while mortals beg.
لَمdid not نَدرِwe know أَنَّكَthat you بِالعَمىthrough blindness
لَم نَدرِ أَنَّكَ بِالعَمى

تَغنى وَيَفتَقِرُ البَشَر
We did not know that through blindness
you would grow rich while humankind grew poor.
