بَلَوناهُمُ واحِداً واحِدا

بَلَوناهُمُ واحِداً واحِدا

فَكُلُّهُم ذَلِكَ الواحِدُ

فَكُلُّهُم ذَلِكَ الواحِدُ

We tested them one by one.

We tested them one by one

So all of them were one and the same.

And each was that same one

وَكُلُّهُم خَيرُهُ ناقِصٌ

وَكُلُّهُم خَيرُهُ ناقِصٌ

وَكُلُّهُم شَرُّهُ زائِدُ

وَكُلُّهُم شَرُّهُ زائِدُ

And each one's goodness was lacking.

Yet all their goodness was incomplete

And each one's evil was excessive.

And all their evil was replete
