ماnot تَمَّfinished مِنهاof it ثَلاثاًthree [cups] قَطُّever شارِبُهاits drinker
ما تَمَّ مِنها ثَلاثاً قَطُّ شارِبُها
إِلّاexcept that رَأىsaw عَقلَهُhis reason مِنهُfrom him عَلىon سَفَرِa journey
إِلّا رَأى عَقلَهُ مِنهُ عَلى سَفَرِ
No drinker of it ever finished three [cups]
He who drinks three cups of wine
without seeing his reason on a journey away from him.
Will find his reason go astray.
