وَلَيسَand is not فَتىa young man الفِتيانِof the young men مَنone who راحَgoes out in the evening وَاِغتَدىand goes out in the morning
وَلَيسَ فَتى الفِتيانِ مَن راحَ وَاِغتَدى
لِشُربِfor drinking صَبوحٍa morning draught أَوor لِشُربِfor drinking غَبوقِan evening draught
لِشُربِ صَبوحٍ أَو لِشُربِ غَبوقِ
And the finest of young men is not one who goes out in the evening and morning
The valiant youth is not the one who goes out to drink at dawn
To drink a morning draught or an evening draught;
Or in the evening for mere sake of wine
وَلَكِنand yet فَتىa young man الفِتيانِof the young men مَنone who راحَgoes out in the evening أَوor غَداgoes out in the morning
وَلَكِن فَتى الفِتيانِ مَن راحَ أَو غَدا
لِضُرِّto harm عَدُوٍّan enemy أَوor لِنَفعِto benefit صَديقِa friend
لِضُرِّ عَدُوٍّ أَو لِنَفعِ صَديقِ
But the finest of young men is one who goes out in the evening or morning
But the valiant youth is he who goes out at dawn or dusk
To harm an enemy or benefit a friend.
To smite a foe or render help to a friend
