تكلَّم عَمّا في الصُدورِ عُيونُنا

تكلَّم عَمّا في الصُدورِ عُيونُنا

وَتَفقَهُ عَنّا أَعيُنٌ وَحَواجِبُ

وَتَفقَهُ عَنّا أَعيُنٌ وَحَواجِبُ

Our eyes speak of what lies within our breasts,

Our eyes speak of what is in our hearts

and eyes and brows understand us.

And eyes and eyebrows understand us

فَمَن قالَ إِنَّ الحبَّ يَخفى لِذي الهَوى

فَمَن قالَ إِنَّ الحبَّ يَخفى لِذي الهَوى

إِذا ما رَأى أَحبابَهُ فَهوَ كاذِبُ

إِذا ما رَأى أَحبابَهُ فَهوَ كاذِبُ

So whoever says that a lover’s love stays hidden

So whoever says that love can be hidden from a lover

when he sees those he loves is a liar.

When he sees his beloved, he is a liar
