سَلامٌ عَلى الإِسلامِ فَهوَ مُوَدِّع

سَلامٌ عَلى الإِسلامِ فَهوَ مُوَدِّع

إِذا ما مَضى آلُ النَبِيِّ فَوَدَّعوا

إِذا ما مَضى آلُ النَبِيِّ فَوَدَّعوا

Farewell to Islam, for it is departing;

when the Prophet's family is gone, then bid farewell.

فَقَدنا العُلى وَالمَجد عِندَ اِفتِقادِهِم

فَقَدنا العُلى وَالمَجد عِندَ اِفتِقادِهِم

وَأَضحَت عُروشُ المَكرُماتِ تَضَعضَعُ

وَأَضحَت عُروشُ المَكرُماتِ تَضَعضَعُ

We lost high honor and glory when we lost them,

and the thrones of noble deeds began to totter.

أَتَجمَعُ عَينٌ بَينَ نَومٍ وَمَضجَع

أَتَجمَعُ عَينٌ بَينَ نَومٍ وَمَضجَع

وَلِاِبنِ رَسولِ اللَهِ في التُربِ مَضجَعُ

وَلِاِبنِ رَسولِ اللَهِ في التُربِ مَضجَعُ

Can an eye unite sleep and a bed,

while the son of God's Messenger has his bed in the dust?

فَقَد أَقفَرَت دارُ النَبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ

فَقَد أَقفَرَت دارُ النَبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ

مِنَ الدينِ وَالإِسلامِ فَالدارُ بَلقَعُ

مِنَ الدينِ وَالإِسلامِ فَالدارُ بَلقَعُ

For the house of the Prophet Muhammad stands empty

of religion and Islam; the house is a barren waste.

وَقُتِّلَ آلُ المُصطَفى في خِلالِها

وَقُتِّلَ آلُ المُصطَفى في خِلالِها

وَبُدِّدَ شَملٌ مِنهُمُ لَيسَ يُجمَعُ

وَبُدِّدَ شَملٌ مِنهُمُ لَيسَ يُجمَعُ

And the Chosen One's family was slaughtered within it,

and their company was scattered, never to be gathered again.

أَلَم تَرَ آلَ المُصطَفى كَيفَ تَصطَفي

أَلَم تَرَ آلَ المُصطَفى كَيفَ تَصطَفي

نُفوسَهُم أُمُّ المُنونِ فَتَتبَعُ

نُفوسَهُم أُمُّ المُنونِ فَتَتبَعُ

Have you not seen the Chosen One's family—how she chooses

their souls—the Mother of Death—and then pursues them?

بَني طاهِرٍ وَاللُؤمُ مِنكُم سَجِيَّةٌ

بَني طاهِرٍ وَاللُؤمُ مِنكُم سَجِيَّةٌ

وَلِلغَدرِ مِنكُم حاسِرٌ وَمُقَنَّعُ

وَلِلغَدرِ مِنكُم حاسِرٌ وَمُقَنَّعُ

O sons of Tahir, baseness is an inborn trait among you,

and among you, treachery has men bareheaded and helmeted.

قَواطِعكُم في التُركِ غَير قَواطِعٍ

قَواطِعكُم في التُركِ غَير قَواطِعٍ

وَلَكِنَّها في آلِ أَحمَدَ تُقطَعُ

وَلَكِنَّها في آلِ أَحمَدَ تُقطَعُ

Your cutting swords do not cut against the Turks,

but against Ahmad's family they cut.

لَكُم كُلَّ يَوم مَشرَبٌ مِن دِمائِهِم

لَكُم كُلَّ يَوم مَشرَبٌ مِن دِمائِهِم

وَغُلَّتُها مِن شُربِها لَيسَ تَنقَعُ

وَغُلَّتُها مِن شُربِها لَيسَ تَنقَعُ

Each day you have a draught of their blood,

yet the blades' burning thirst is not quenched by drinking it.

رِماحُكُمُ لِلطالِبيّينَ شُرَّعٌ

رِماحُكُمُ لِلطالِبيّينَ شُرَّعٌ

وَفيكُم رِماحُ التُركِ بِالقَتلِ شُرَّعُ

وَفيكُم رِماحُ التُركِ بِالقَتلِ شُرَّعُ

Your spears are leveled at the Talibids,

while the Turks' spears are leveled at you to kill.

لَكُم مَرتَعٌ في دارِ آلِ مُحَمِّدٍ

لَكُم مَرتَعٌ في دارِ آلِ مُحَمِّدٍ

وَدارُكُم لِلتُركِ وَالجَيشِ مَرتَعُ

وَدارُكُم لِلتُركِ وَالجَيشِ مَرتَعُ

You have a grazing ground in the house of Muhammad's family,

while your house is a grazing ground for the Turks and the army.

أَخِلتُم بِأَنَّ اللَهَ يَرعى حُقوقَكُم

أَخِلتُم بِأَنَّ اللَهَ يَرعى حُقوقَكُم

وَحَقُّ رَسولِ اللَهِ فيكُم مُضَيَّعُ

وَحَقُّ رَسولِ اللَهِ فيكُم مُضَيَّعُ

Did you suppose that God would uphold your rights,

while the right of God's Messenger lies neglected among you?

وَأَضحَوا يُرَجّونَ الشَفاعَةَ عِندَهُ

وَأَضحَوا يُرَجّونَ الشَفاعَةَ عِندَهُ

وَلَيسَ لِمَن يَرميهِ بِالوَترِ يَشفَعُ

وَلَيسَ لِمَن يَرميهِ بِالوَترِ يَشفَعُ

And they now hope for intercession from him,

but he does not intercede for one who wrongs him through bloodshed.

فَيغلَبُ مَغلوبٌ وَيُقتَلُ قاتِلٌ

فَيغلَبُ مَغلوبٌ وَيُقتَلُ قاتِلٌ

وَيُخفَض مَرفوعٌ وَيُدنى المُرَفَّعُ

وَيُخفَض مَرفوعٌ وَيُدنى المُرَفَّعُ

Then the vanquished prevails, and the killer is killed,

and one raised high is lowered, and the exalted is brought low.
