  1. انظر إلى وردةٍ حيَّى بها رشأٌ

    نشوان وافى من الغلمان كالحورِ

    Look at a rose offered in greeting by a young gazelle;

    Tipsy, he came from among the youths, like the houris.

  2. كأنَّها شفتاه حين جاء بها

    مضمومةً إذ بدت أو طرفُ مخمورِ

    It seemed to be his lips when he brought it,

    Closed as it appeared—or a drunken man's eye.
