يُمنُgood fortune غَربٍof the West نَصرُvictory ملكٍof a king أوحدِpeerless
يُمنُ غَربٍ نَصرُ ملكٍ أوحدِ
قدindeed حماهُhe protected it منfrom تعديthe transgression of المُعتديthe aggressor
قد حماهُ من تعدي المُعتدي
The West's good fortune is the victory of a peerless king.
Good fortune from the west, victory of the one true king
He has protected it from the aggressor's transgression.
He protected it from the aggression of the transgressor
قامَhe stood firm باللهِthrough God وليلهِand his night (unclear in context) لماfor what
قامَ باللهِ وليلهِ لما
جاءَwas set forth فيin الشرعِthe sacred law العَزيزِthe exalted الأحمَدِthe most praiseworthy
جاءَ في الشرعِ العَزيزِ الأحمَدِ
He stood firm through God—and his night [wording unclear]—for what
He stood by God and his glorious night when
was set forth in the exalted, most praiseworthy sacred law.
He came in the magnificent, precious law
واثقٌtrusting باللَّهِin God كافٍsufficient مُكتَفٍcontent
واثقٌ باللَّهِ كافٍ مُكتَفٍ
مُرشِدٌa guide أنعمhow excellent بهhe is منas a مُرشدِguide
مُرشِدٌ أنعم به من مُرشدِ
Trusting in God, sufficient and content.
Confident in God, content and satisfied
A guide—what an excellent guide he is!
A guide whom He blessed us with from the guided
منةٌa blessing أكرَمناhonored us اللَهGod بهthrough him
منةٌ أكرَمنا اللَه به
فهناso it rejoiced الغربُthe West بهin him لمdid not ينفَدِbecome exhausted
فهنا الغربُ به لم ينفَدِ
A blessing: God has honored us through him.
A blessing that God honored us with
So the West rejoiced in him and was not exhausted.
So here the west through him is inexhaustible
ظفرتattained أرواحناour souls منfrom يُمنهِhis good fortune
ظفرت أرواحنا من يُمنهِ
بأمانٍwith security فيin زمانٍan age أرغَدِof greater ease
بأمانٍ في زمانٍ أرغَدِ
Our souls attained, through his good fortune,
Our souls were victorious through his good fortune
security in an age of greater ease.
With peace in a time of prosperity
هامَwas enraptured فيby أوصافهhis qualities ذوa man of أدبٍletters
هامَ في أوصافه ذو أدبٍ
ودهىand he bewildered ذهنَthe mind of ابليغٍan eloquent man (spelling unclear) أمجدِillustrious
ودهى ذهنَ ابليغٍ أمجدِ
A man of letters was enraptured by his qualities,
A man of literary refinement was awed by his traits
and he bewildered the mind of an illustrious, eloquent man.
And an eloquent mind was perplexed
ياO! لَهُhe is منas a مالكٍa sovereign إحسانهhis kindness
يا لَهُ من مالكٍ إحسانه
فيamong البراياcreated beings ماnot لهاfor it منany عددِnumber
في البرايا ما لها من عددِ
Ah, what a sovereign! His kindness
What a king of kindness his benevolence is
among created beings is beyond counting.
In the wilds however much it counts
رُوحُthe spirit of سَعدٍgood fortune أصبحتhas begun تُنشدناto chant to us
رُوحُ سَعدٍ أصبحت تُنشدنا
يُمنُgood fortune غربٍof the West نَصرُvictory ملكٍof a king أوحَدِpeerless
يُمنُ غربٍ نَصرُ ملكٍ أوحَدِ
The spirit of good fortune has begun to chant to us:
The soul of bliss has come to sing to us
"The West's good fortune is the victory of a peerless king."
