عظمت نعمٌ من أمير سَعيد
الأنامmankind بهاthrough them فيin السرورُjoy يَزيدincreases
الأنام بها في السرورُ يَزيد
Great are the blessings from Emir Sa'id.
Great bounties from the Prince Sa'id,
Through them, mankind grows in joy.
With which people's joy increases,
ظَرفاًwit حِكماًwisdom أدباًrefinement حسباًnoble lineage
ظَرفاً حِكماً أدباً حسباً
فاقsurpassed أهلَthose worthy of الثناءpraise والفخارِand glory العَميدthe chief
فاق أهلَ الثناء والفخارِ العَميد
In wit, wisdom, refinement, and noble lineage,
Wise, cultured, well-mannered,
the chief surpassed those worthy of praise and glory.
Surpassing praisers and steadfast glory.
يرتقيhe ascends ذِروَةَthe summit الماجدينَthe illustrious كماjust as
يرتقي ذِروَةَ الماجدينَ كما
للمعاليtoward lofty honors سماhas risen منهُfrom him فعلٌa deed حَميدpraiseworthy
للمعالي سما منهُ فعلٌ حَميد
He ascends the summit of the illustrious, just as
He climbs the summit of the glorious,
a praiseworthy deed of his has risen toward lofty honors.
As virtues have a lofty path through him,
مَلكٌa king فضلُهُhis excellence فيamong الوَرىmankind واضِحٌclear
مَلكٌ فضلُهُ في الوَرى واضِحٌ
بَذلُهُhis giving وافِرٌabundant كامِلٌcomplete وَمديدand enduring
بَذلُهُ وافِرٌ كامِلٌ وَمديد
A king whose excellence is clear among mankind,
A king whose excellence in the world is clear,
his giving is abundant, complete, and enduring.
His generosity and perfection last long.
السعيدُthe fortunate one الذيwho أفصَحَتhas spoken eloquently مدحٌpraise
السعيدُ الذي أفصَحَت مدحٌ
بمآثرهof his noble deeds كُلَّeach يومٍday جديدnew
بمآثره كُلَّ يومٍ جديد
The fortunate one, whose praise has spoken eloquently
Happy is he whose praises
of his noble deeds each new day.
Daily speak of his new achievements,
مَوردُa source الحِلمِforbearance مَنهَلُهُhis spring كَرماًin generosity
مَوردُ الحِلمِ مَنهَلُهُ كَرماً
كفُّهُhis palm بالسخاwith generosity واكِفٌpouring forth لاnot يَبيدperishes
كفُّهُ بالسخا واكِفٌ لا يَبيد
His generous spring is a source of forbearance;
The spring of wisdom, its source of generosity,
his palm pours forth generosity that never ends.
His palm open-handed, never-fading.
يَرتويhe drinks his fill أبداًforever منfrom سواكبهاits outpourings
يَرتوي أبداً من سواكبها
منwhoever لَهُhe has أدبٌrefinement فيamong الأنامِmankind فَريدpeerless
من لَهُ أدبٌ في الأنامِ فَريد
He forever drinks his fill from its outpourings—
Those with rare refinement drink forever
he whose refinement is peerless among mankind.
From his stars,
رَحمةٌa mercy للورىto mankind دونwithout ماany عَددٍnumber
رَحمةٌ للورى دون ما عَددٍ
عظمتhave grown great نعمٌblessings منfrom أميرEmir سَعيدSa'id
عظمت نعمٌ من أمير سَعيد
A mercy to mankind beyond counting.
A mercy to the world without number,
