السعيدُthe fortunate one منhe who سَعِدَتbecame happy
السعيدُ من سَعِدَت
منthrough علائهِhis eminence الأُمَمُthe nations
من علائهِ الأُمَمُ
Fortunate is he who has brought happiness
Blessed is he whose rule
to the nations through his eminence.
Has brought prosperity to nations,
غُرَّةُthe pride of المُلوكِthe kings وَمَنand one who
غُرَّةُ المُلوكِ وَمَن
مِنهُfrom him قدindeed سَمَتrose high هِمَمُaspirations
مِنهُ قد سَمَت هِمَمُ
The pride of kings, and one
A jewel among kings, one whose resolve
through whom aspirations have soared.
Is the aspiration of all men.
راقَwas pleasing منamong خلائقهِhis qualities
راقَ من خلائقهِ
الوفاءُloyalty والكَرَمُand generosity
الوفاءُ والكَرَمُ
Pleasing among his qualities are
From him shines forth
loyalty and generosity.
Good faith and generosity.
كافِلٌguardian of رعيَّتَهُhis subjects
كافِلٌ رعيَّتَهُ
عمَّهاencompassed them بهthrough him نِعَمُblessings
عمَّها به نِعَمُ
A guardian of his subjects,
He protects his subjects -
through him, blessings have encompassed them.
His grace enfolds them all.
مُصدَقُborne out as true الثَّناءِthe praise وَمَنand one who
مُصدَقُ الثَّناءِ وَمَن
فيin العُلاthe heights لَهُbelonging to him قَدَمُa foothold
في العُلا لَهُ قَدَمُ
One whose praise is borne out, and one
True to others' praises, his advance
with a foothold in the heights.
To glory was foretold.
يَرتَقيrises بِهِthrough him أَدَبٌّliterature
يَرتَقي بِهِ أَدَبٌّ
تَزدهيshine بهِthrough him حِكَمُwise sayings
تَزدهي بهِ حِكَمُ
Literature rises through him;
With wisdom he ascends;
wise sayings shine through him.
Learning adorns his name.
