لطيبِfor the sweet one الأنفاسِbreaths والأرَجِand fragrance
لطيبِ الأنفاسِ والأرَجِ
ورافعِand the raiser of المِقدارِrank والدرجِand degrees
ورافعِ المِقدارِ والدرجِ
For him of sweet breath and fragrance,
With fragrant breath and pleasing scent,
And the raiser of rank and station,
Exalted in worth and rank ascent,
فحولُmasters مدحٍof praise حكمَتperfected لفظهاtheir diction
فحولُ مدحٍ حكمَت لفظها
نظامَهاtheir verse بالسحرِwith magic فلتمزجِso blend
نظامَها بالسحرِ فلتمزجِ
Masters of praise have perfected their diction;
Eloquent praise did jointly cement,
So blend their verse with magic.
its speech arranged with magic so lent,
خطابُهاtheir address تهنئةٌcongratulation للذيto the one who
خطابُها تهنئةٌ للذي
بهthrough him استراحَfound relief الغربُthe West منfrom هرجِturmoil
به استراحَ الغربُ من هرجِ
Their address congratulates the one
A greeting it bears for he who lent,
Through whom the West found relief from turmoil.
The West respite from grief and dissent,
راقٍascending منارَthe beacon of الأمنِsafety مستبشراًrejoicing
راقٍ منارَ الأمنِ مستبشراً
بالأمنin safety والفتحand victory وبالفرَجِand in deliverance
بالأمن والفتح وبالفرَجِ
Ascending the beacon of safety, rejoicing
Kindling the light of safety, content,
In safety, victory, and deliverance.
With security, openings, easement,
إمامُan imam عدلٍof justice حُبُّهُlove for him لمhas not يَزلceased
إمامُ عدلٍ حُبُّهُ لم يَزل
فيin داخلِthe depths of الأحشاءِthe inward parts والمُهَجِand souls
في داخلِ الأحشاءِ والمُهَجِ
An imam of justice, love for whom has always remained
A just leader, love always ferment,
Deep within hearts and souls.
Inside hearts and emotions unspent,
مُحيٍreviving أماناًsafety فيamong رعيتهِhis subjects
مُحيٍ أماناً في رعيتهِ
لماwhen سرىhe journeyed فيهِمamong them علىalong النُهجِthe paths
لما سرى فيهِم على النُهجِ
Reviving safety among his subjects
Reviving safety among hiscrement,
When he journeyed among them along the paths.
As he tread the path by wisdom meant,
يُؤَلفُhe unites الخَلقَthe people بِحِكمَتِهِthrough his wisdom
يُؤَلفُ الخَلقَ بِحِكمَتِهِ
حَتّىuntil استقامَbecame upright الكُلُّall منfrom عِوَجِcrookedness
حَتّى استقامَ الكُلُّ من عِوَجِ
He unites the people through his wisdom,
Uniting all with enlightenment,
Until all became upright, free of crookedness.
Until crooked ways became unbent,
رعايةًout of care يمنحُهُمhe grants them ماthat which بهِby it
رعايةً يمنحُهُم ما بهِ
يُكفَونَthey are shielded مِنfrom رَوعٍterror وَمِنand from حَرَجِdistress
يُكفَونَ مِن رَوعٍ وَمِن حَرَجِ
Out of care, he grants them that by which
Granting care so all were prevent,
They are shielded from terror and distress.
From fear or hardship as burdent,
يُوليhe grants قَبولاًacceptance عَرفُهُhis fragrance عَطِرٌsweet-scented
يُولي قَبولاً عَرفُهُ عَطِرٌ
مُطَيِّبُsweetening الأنفاسِbreaths والأَرَجِand scent
مُطَيِّبُ الأنفاسِ والأَرَجِ
He grants acceptance; his fragrance is sweet,
His acceptance a fragrance that lent,
Sweetening breaths and scent.
Sweet breaths and pleasing redolent.
